New Owl Hat!

Displaying 20131209_201614.jpg

So I posted yesterday that I really love owls, and that I was currently working on an owl hat! Well, I finished it last night!!! I'm SO happy with how it turned out. If anyone wants to make one of these, you can find the pattern on Repeat Crafter Me! This hat that I made is a toddler/preschool age size. I'm also working on a children's size hat now. This will be on our Etsy website later tonight, so if you'd like to purchase one, please look there!

Cute Hats!

So I've been making a lot of baby hats lately, but I wanted to branch out a little bit and make some fun hats for kids too. I found these on various blogs that I've visited, or through Pinterest. You'll find the original post listed with the picture.

I found this adorable hat on Repeat Crafter Me. Sarah has the pattern directions for newborn to adults! I've made one already (just need to sew on the buttons) and am in the process of making the second. I LOVE owls, so these hats are perfect for me to make!! I'll post pictures once they are both finished, but the first one I made is a preschool-age kids hat that's dark blue on top and lime green on the bottom. I have to admit, its pretty adorable. The second is for my brother's girlfriend's daughter (wow, that's a mouthful), and its brown on top and bright pink on bottom.

This is the next hat that I really want to make. I think minions from Despicable Me are so freaking adorable! I even have a shirt and coffee cup with them on it that I got from Universal Studios when I was there over spring break. I found this hat on this Esty website: https://www.etsy.com/listing/157510255/baby-minion-crochet-hat. I can't wait to try to make my own! Obviously I don't have a pattern yet, but I will likely just wing it, and maybe create my own pattern, which I'll be sure to post on here. Doesn't look too difficult, thankfully.

I'm also toying with the idea of making this hat! Possibly for my brother's girlfriend's son, though I'd change up the colors a little. If I don't make it for him, then I'm just going to make it and donate it to the Children's hospital. Once I make these, they will all get posted on our Esty website for people to purchase, but I'll donate them in the process. I found this hat and pattern at Crazy Socks Design's blog.

I also found this design at Crazy Socks blog here. I think these hats look super adorable on little boys, so I'll make a few for the Children's hospital. Not sure yet what colors I'll do... Maybe green and yellow for the Green Bay Packers, or red and white for the Wisconsin Badgers. Or  maybe I'll just do random colors! (:

Good thing I recently bought a ton of yarn! I'll be busy with these over the next few winter months!

Welcome!

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by our blog (: I will likely be doing most of the posting here, but my mom may jump on every now and then to share something she's created. She's gotten done quite a few baby hats lately and I can't wait to get pictures posted of them. Since we're new to the blogging world, it's going to take us a while to get up and running, but I hope you guys stick around and see what we have to offer!

Here are the first few hats that I've made. These hats will be donated to the Children's Hospital in Wisconsin or the UW Children's Hospital. Hope you enjoy!

Displaying 20131124_122627.jpg This picture makes it look very bright, but in real lighting, its actually a dark blue. One of my favorites (:

Displaying 20131119_170502.jpgThis was really fun to make too. I think the flower is adorable!

Displaying 20131031_215947.jpgSorry for the poor quality of pictures, but that's what happens when I use my phone in low-lit areas (: I still like how the hats turned out though!

Displaying 20131125_203255.jpgThis is the first hat I made that has a bit of a design to it. My mom loved it when I showed it to her, so I'm sure she'll be making lots of these soon! I found the pattern here.

Displaying 20131030_214419.jpg Just a plain, bright pink hat. Again, not the greatest quality photo, but you get the idea! (:

This is the first blanket I've ever made! It was so much fun, but took a long time because of the stitch I used. If I were more advanced when I started this, I probably would have used something else so it wasn't so tight. BUT I still love it and really love the colors!

These are the wristers (fingerless gloves) that I recently finished. They were so simple and fun to make! Plus they really keep your hands warm :) I bring them to work since I work in a really old house that doesn't heat well. And since I'm on the computer all day, they're much more convenient than actual gloves or mittens!

And finally, here is the infinity scarf (cowl) that I made recently! I absolutely love it and am so happy with how it turned out! I used a very thick yarn, so the scarf is incredibly soft and warm. I also finished this in a couple hours, so its a perfect project for beginners!
